The first royal litter of the Delta Island Pride is due soon! King Ruh and Queen D'lani are expecting a large litter of cubs, if D'lani's belly is any indication, and she's ready to give birth at any moment! Tisea and I are doing a meme contest to determine who the players will be!

Background:

    As if an extension of the plights his parents had to endure, the young cub came into the world fighting. Born to King Ruh and Queen D’lani of Delta, the litter was a symbol of health, prosperity, and fertility among the newly reformed pride even as one of their cubs appeared to be small and a bit slow. The litter could not be any more diverse; Holding traits taken from all over the bloodline, the cubs would be judged not only according to the deeds of their parents but of the relatives who they resembled. Such reputations may prove hard to do away with, even for innocents.

Joshi came into the world small and slow, appearing almost dumb. Regardless of whether it is to remain in the memories of others in a good light or bad, his mental capabilities will always haunt him. He will not be the brightest, but this will work him to strive for better. He will seek knowledge and redemption and if he cannot have the former immediately, he may take to more physical capabilities and stress his good qualities among those who he was trying to impress. Sometimes it takes a few repetitions to get something right (in his youth), which also frustrate him.

Aside from the physical world around him, Joshi will feel trapped in his own thoughts and struggles. He will not be good at expressing himself.

Indeed he does want to be considered for the throne, even if he will not say it he will try to show. He isn’t one to try and outshine, but when others outshine him he will grow flustered. Admittedly this will be something he’ll need to work out (which will hopefully come with many endeavors and failures and successes over time).

Personality:

• Introverted- Although Joshi would love to be around other cubs, he finds that when he is around creatures of his age he is forced to try and talk and express himself more. When he is with adults he happily plays the quiet, nodding son who doesn’t need to talk.
• Aloof- Though he listens and tries to learn from others, there are times where he may seem detached from those around him. It may be his slow capability at processing, or just introversion at times. He’s not sympathetic towards others, or himself. He doesn’t understand many feelings in the beginning and will often have to sit down and talk to a parent or trusted adult about the odd things he feels. Surprisingly when it is not with other cubs, he can be a good communicator (though this is rare).
• Self Aware- Whenever he is out with someone he is not comfortable with, Joshi may try too hard to be this empathetic, concerned prince and end up looking like a fool, even if it is the exact opposite of what he tries to do. Sometimes he may wake up in the middle of the night and practice talking to himself.
• Passive-Aggressive- While the young prince may at times fear the disapproval of others, he more often then not pouts and holds things in rather than sharing himself. To him its easier to turn a cold shoulder on others until someone asks him what’s wrong.
• Curious-Behind all the walls and obstacles, one will find a mind wanting to be molded, a desire for structure and for more information. Sometimes this may even drive him to pushing past his communication frustrations and lead him to leaving his comfort zone for a sheer need to learn.

Other:

• Joshi has a lisp. He pronounces ‘s’ as ‘th’. “I can’t thay thpethal” (I can't say special).
• He will grow out of his small size and amass considerable weight. He will not be overly big, but average is where he will stand. It’s a good accomplishment for one who was born small.
• Like his mother, he will have lighter highlights in his mane.
• Like his father’s cousin he will have red tones to said mane.
• Minimal cub spots will be retained on the legs, his shoulder ones will disappear.
• Since it’s hard to tell, his eyes are only a shade bluer than his mother’s.
• Mane will extend to where you see the scruff on his chest.
• His build will be similar to his father’s side.
